Report on 16th September Board Meeting

The Board of Directors of FIS met for its first session of the year on Monday the 16th of September. In our commitment to United and Sound Governance, here is a summary of the information that was discussed, considered, and voted.Our Members assembled at our Blue Pool Road Campus in the 3rd floor Library.The board chair welcomed new and returning members, including our Interim head of School, Mr. Michael Maniska, and newly elected members, Mr. Gilles Marino and Mrs. Sher Li Tan to their first meeting.The Board chair presented a review of protocol and responsibilities for the benefit of new and returning members.The Chair of the Governance committee then presented an analysis of the results of the Board  2023-2024 self-evaluation.Following this a proposal of the board’s 24-25 bureau composition (vice chairs, secretary, treasurer, committee chairs) was presented and voted for approval. Interim Head of School Mr. Maniska then presented to the board a school management update which included progress on the school-wide sustainability audit, and status of the school-wide compensation and benefits review “John Littleford” project.The board will meet again for its next meeting on Monday October 21st, 2024.
