Vie Scolaire

Vie Scolaire Department at the French International School of Hong Kong plays a central role in supporting students’ well-being and holistic development. It ensures adherence to the school’s code of conduct, fosters a positive and respectful school climate, and encourages students’ responsibility and independence.

Working closely with teachers, families, and school leadership, Vie Scolaire's team supports students in their personal, social, and civic growth. The department also organises educational initiatives, citizenship projects, and dialogue sessions to strengthen community spirit and cohesion.

Its primary goal is to create a caring environment where every student feels respected, heard, and valued.

Health Department

The Health Department at FIS is dedicated not only to safeguarding students’ physical and mental well-being but also to empowering them as informed and responsible individuals. Through engaging, age-appropriate workshops and playful awareness campaigns, it addresses essential health topics such as HIV/AIDS prevention, the risks associated with excessive energy drink consumption, and the hidden dangers of "space oil" .

The department also promotes healthy lifestyle choices by highlighting the benefits of digital detox and encouraging mindful screen use. Furthermore, it actively contributes to fostering a respectful and inclusive school environment through anti-bullying initiatives and peer support programs.

By combining care, education, and prevention, the Health Department equips students with the knowledge and tools they need to make safe, healthy, and conscious decisions throughout their lives.

Pôle Inclusif

The Pôle Inclusif 's mission is to support and accompany all students in the French primary stream. Our team consists of three specialised teachers, four FLSCO (French as a Language of Schooling) teachers, and one psychologist.

Within the Pôle Inclusif, we host the "Dispositif Passerelle". This program is designed to support newly arrived non-French-speaking students, helping them integrate into the French stream through individualised support.

Together, the teaching team and the Pôle Inclusif create an inclusive environment where every student can thrive, feel valued, and reach their full potential.

Library

The BPR and TKO CDIs (school libraries/media centers) are dedicated spaces that foster reading, writing, and cultural enrichment. We welcome all students who wish to study and read in an environment conducive to learning.

The CDIs have four key objectives:

Cultivating a passion for reading
Nurturing creativity through writing
Encouraging cultural encounters
Informing and engaging the school community through themed weeks and exhibitions

Working alongside both teaching staff and parents, guidance counsellors help each student develop their higher education plan, aiming to:

Get students to play an active role in their future development by reflecting on further learning opportunities
Enable students to take stock of their skills, motivations, personal attributes and ambitions
Support students as they research and gather the information needed to make decisions about their higher education prospects.
Guide students as much as possible with university admission procedures

In addition, the university guidance team:

Maintains ongoing relationships with international universities to promote the school around the world
Promotes and organises numerous events throughout the school year, such as presentations, conferences, education fairs, to help students make their plans for post-secondary studies
Promotes the AGORA Monde platform, a global social platform that aims to connect current and former students from French secondary schools around the world to discuss degree options and university life

University Guidance

Our university guidance department is made up of five guidance counsellors, each with a specific geographic area of expertise, and one administrative and communications assistant. The university guidance department aims to ensure students are fully aware of the demands of higher education, and corresponding career prospects, and to enable each student to develop and implement their own personalised plan.
