INES DELACROIX, A French National Team Swimmer at FIS!

The AEFE label "Generation 2024" allows FIS students to have unique and inspiring encounters with high-level French athletes.

As part of our "Generation 2024" labeling, FIS is committed to supporting, accompanying, and facilitating the reception and preparation of high-level French athletes passing through Hong Kong.

At the end of October, we had the opportunity to welcome Ines Delacroix, a swimmer from the French team specialising in the 10 km open water swimming and a young hopeful for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, along with her coach Tony Pouliquen, Director of the Cercle des Nageurs de Brest and coach of the elite swimmers of the Cercle.

After Egypt, Italy, and Portugal, Inès and Tony were in Hong Kong for the 4th stop of the World Aquatics Open Water Swimming World Cup 2024; a competition in which the 21-year-old swimmer finished 14th, which is a good placement. Indeed, she held on to the leading pack with the best swimmers in the world and Olympic medalists.

Between training sessions in our pools, Inès and Tony took the time to exchange, advise, and even swim with our young students from the FIS swimming team.

The Primary School teachers of the French Stream received valuable training for their future swimming sessions with the students.

Taking advantage of Inès and Tony's presence in our facilities, the French Stream Primary teachers were also able to benefit from a "learn to swim" training as part of our Physical Education programs.

Tony shared his expertise with us to better approach the upcoming swimming sessions with our students and helped us dispel preconceived notions that are often associated with teaching swimming to young children.

His systematic and clear approach to "learn to swim," along with his friendly presentation, made the training enjoyable and undoubtedly useful for our teachers.

We sincerely thank him for the time he dedicated to us and the quality of our interactions.

A warm thank you to Inès and Tony for their kindness and availability, and what a great opportunity for our students who have had an extraordinary, enriching, and motivating experience! We also wish them good luck for the final stage of their competition in a few weeks in Saudi Arabia!
